Perfect for parties, game days, or as a quick snack, they deliver the irresistible taste of jalapeño poppers in a bite-sized, easy-to-eat form.

Ingredients
    For the Filling
  • 225 g (8 oz) cream cheese (softened, room temperature)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (sharp or medium)
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2–3 fresh jalapeños (seeded and finely diced)
  • 4 strips turkey bacon or beef bacon (cooked and crumbled)
  • 2 green onions (finely chopped)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp smoked paprika (optional, for extra flavor)
  • Pinch of salt and pepper to taste
  • For the Base
  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed, about 25 x 25 cm)
  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
Instructions
    Prepare the Filling
  1. 1
In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese, mozzarella, diced jalapeños, crumbled turkey bacon, green onions, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and well incorporated.
  2. Roll Out the Puff Pastry
  3. 2
Lightly flour your work surface. Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet into a rectangle about 30 x 25 cm for easier rolling.
  4. Spread the Filling
  5. 3
Evenly spread the cream cheese mixture over the puff pastry, leaving about 1 cm border around the edges to prevent overflow when rolling.
  6. Roll and Chill
  7. 4
Starting from the longer side, roll the pastry into a tight log. Wrap in parchment paper or plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 10–15 minutes. This makes slicing easier and cleaner.
  8. Slice into Pinwheels
  9. 5
Remove from the fridge and cut the log into 1.5–2 cm thick slices (about 18–20 pieces). Place them cut side up on a parchment-lined baking tray, spacing them slightly apart.
  10. Apply Egg Wash
  11. 6
Brush the tops lightly with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  12. Bake
  13. 7
Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 20–25 minutes or until puffed, golden, and the cheese is bubbling.
  14. Rest and Serve
  15. 8
Allow the pinwheels to cool for 5 minutes before serving. Best enjoyed warm.
Note

Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 180°C for 5–7 minutes to crisp up again.

Make-Ahead: You can prepare the log ahead of time and refrigerate for up to 24 hours before slicing and baking.

Variations:

  • Use pepper jack cheese for extra spice.
  • Add finely chopped red bell pepper for color and sweetness.
  • Swap puff pastry for flour tortillas and bake for a lighter version.
