Description

This Iced Matcha Latte with Honey Vanilla Syrup is a refreshing, antioxidant-rich beverage that blends vibrant ceremonial-grade matcha with creamy milk and a homemade syrup infused with real vanilla and honey. Naturally sweetened and utterly smooth, this drink is the perfect way to cool down while enjoying the calming energy of matcha.

Ingredients
    For the Honey Vanilla Syrup
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 3 tbsp water
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract (pure)
  • For the Matcha Latte
  • 1.5 tsp matcha powder (ceremonial-grade preferred)
  • 60 ml hot water (at 90°C)
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based, like oat or almond)
  • 1 cup ice cubes (preferably clear ice)
Instructions
    Make the Honey Vanilla Syrup
  1. 1
In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the honey and water. Stir continuously until the honey dissolves completely (about 2-3 minutes). Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Let the syrup cool for 5 minutes before using. Store extra syrup in a sealed jar in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
  2. Whisk the Matcha
  3. 2
Sift the matcha powder into a matcha bowl or small mixing bowl to prevent clumps. Add 60 ml of hot water (around 90°C) and whisk vigorously in a zigzag (M or W) motion using a bamboo whisk (chasen) or a handheld frother until the matcha is frothy and fully dissolved.
  4. Assemble the Drink
  5. 3
Fill two glasses with ice cubes. Pour 1–1.5 tablespoons of the honey vanilla syrup into each glass. Divide the milk evenly between the glasses. Finally, top each drink with the freshly whisked matcha. Stir gently to combine or leave it layered for a stunning visual.
  6. Serve
  7. 4
Serve immediately with a straw or a long spoon. Stir before drinking for the best flavor balance.
Note

Milk Options: Oat milk creates a creamy texture and complements the matcha’s earthy notes, while almond milk offers a nutty finish.

Matcha Quality: Ceremonial-grade matcha is best for drinking due to its smoothness and vibrant color.

Adjust Sweetness: You can add more or less syrup to suit your taste.

Storage: Store extra syrup in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Matcha is best made fresh and not stored.

Pro Tip: Use clear ice cubes or ice spheres for a more aesthetic presentation.
