Ingredients
    For the Chicken:
  • 600 g boneless skinless chicken thighs (trimmed of excess fat)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp paprika (optional for color)
  • For the Honey Garlic Sauce:
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce (low sodium recommended)
  • 1.5 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 5 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water (for cornstarch slurry)
  • For Garnish (Optional):
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley or green onions
Instructions
    Prep the Chicken
  1. 1
Pat chicken thighs dry with paper towels. Season both sides evenly with salt, black pepper, and paprika. This helps build a flavorful crust.
  2. Sear the Chicken
  3. 2
In a large oven-safe skillet or pan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken thighs and sear for 4–5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove the chicken and set aside.
  4. Make the Sauce
  5. 3
In the same pan, reduce heat to medium. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and brown sugar. Stir and simmer for 1 minute.
  6. Thicken the Sauce
  7. 4
In a small bowl, whisk cornstarch and water to make a slurry. Add the slurry to the pan and stir until the sauce thickens (about 1–2 minutes).
  8. Combine & Bake
  9. 5
Return the chicken to the pan and spoon sauce over the top. Transfer the pan to a preheated oven at 190°C and bake for 10–12 minutes until chicken is cooked through and internal temp reaches 74°C (165°F).
  10. Rest and Garnish
  11. 6
Remove from oven, rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped herbs. Serve hot with rice, noodles, or steamed vegetables.
