Ingredients
    For the Beef Marinade:
  • 500 g flank steak (thinly sliced against the grain)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • For the Stir-Fry Sauce:
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup beef broth or water
  • 1 tsp cornstarch (for thickening)
  • For the Stir-Fry:
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/2 red bell pepper (thinly sliced, optional)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 ginger -inch (grated)
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 2 tbsp green onions (chopped, for garnish)
Instructions
  1. 1
    Marinate the Beef

In a bowl, combine sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, and black pepper. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes while preparing other ingredients.

  2. 2
    Prepare the Stir-Fry Sauce

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, honey, beef broth, and cornstarch until smooth. Set aside.

  3. 3
    Cook the Beef

Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add marinated beef in a single layer and sear for about 2 minutes per side until browned but not fully cooked. Remove and set aside.

  4. 4
    Stir-Fry the Vegetables

In the same pan, add another tbsp of oil. Add broccoli florets and bell pepper, stir-frying for 2 minutes. Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes. Stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  5. 5
    Step 5: Combine Everything

Return the cooked beef to the pan and pour the prepared stir-fry sauce over everything. Toss to coat evenly and let the sauce thicken for about 2 minutes.

  6. 6
    Garnish and Serve

Remove from heat and sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.

Note
  • Swap beef for chicken, tofu, or shrimp for a variation.
  • Try adding carrots, mushrooms, or snap peas.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat on the stovetop with a splash of water to refresh the sauce.
